Intensive program

The easiest way to apply to the MLC is to submit the Online Application Form and then the Housing Request Form (if applicable).

You will also need to send us (by e-mail or fax) the following forms to complete the application process:

1) MasterCard & Visa Charge Authorization Form: Applicants need to pay a $100.00 non-refundable application and registration fee. Payment may be paid by MasterCard or Visa. If you do not wish to pay by MasterCard or Visa, you may mail a check. Checks should be made out to the MLC in U.S. dollars and payable through a U.S. bank. You may also pay by travelers check or by bank transfer.

2) A copy of the passport information page that contains the name, birthday, and citizenship.

3a) A bank statement showing that you have the funds to attend the Michigan Language Center full time and to support yourself while studying at the Michigan Language Center.

OR

3b) A letter of financial support from your sponsoring agency that states that it will pay the cost of tuition at the Michigan Language Center and your living costs while studying at the Michigan Language Center.

DEPENDENTS

A dependent is a husband, wife, or child, who will accompany you to The United States. If a dependent will accompany you to The United States, then you will need to submit the Application for Dependents Form, copy of their passport, and a $50.00 Dependent Fee, for each dependent, to the Michigan Language Center.


Part-time study

If a part-time student would like to study at the MLC with an Intensive OR non-Intensive course-load, they need to submit the Application Form (paper or online) along with a $100.00 payment for the non-refundable application and registration fee. 


Attending Part of an intensive session

If a student wishes to register for at the MLC, but cannot be in Ann Arbor for the entire session, the applicant may request permission to attend part of an intensive session. 

It is up to the discretion of the directors to allow students to attend the abbreviated session. Their decision will depend on available classroom space and the dates that the applicant wishes to attend.  

The partial session includes one day of registration and placement and up to 14 days of class. The beginning and ending dates must be within the same session.
