Michigan Language Center SPECIAL PROGRAMS FOR BUSINESS EXECUTIVES

The Michigan Language Center (MLC) arranges special programs for groups of business executives or for individual executives who wish to learn English. Each program is designed to meet the specific needs of the business person or group of business people.

The MLC can design a program for any length of time or for any number of hours per week. A business person may want to attend the regular Intensive English Program, which consists of group classes. In addition, the business person may attend a tutorial program that meets one to three hours per day. Another option is for the MLC to develop a program that is completely individualized. An example of a popular program for an individual business person is the following:

SAMPLE PROGRAM FOR BUSINESS EXECUTIVE

I. Duration of Time: 6 Weeks to Follow the MLC Course Calendar

II. Placement and Orientation: Prior to First Day of Class

III. Group English Language Classes: Core Class; Writing and Grammar; Communication Skills; Reading/Vocabulary/Discussion or Business English

IV. Hours of Group Class Per Day-4; Hours of Group Classes Per Program-120

V. Content of Tutorial Class: Business English and/or Pronunciation Practice and/or American Culture and/or Special Language Needs of the Business Person

VI. Hours of Tutorial Class Per Day-1; Hours of Tutorial Class Per Program-30

Total Hours of Class Per Day-5; Total Hours of Class Per Program-150

VII. Optional Programs(No Charge):

• Conversation Club-1 to 2 Hours Per Week
• Conversation Partner Program-2 to 4 Hours Per Week
• Special Seminar-2 Hours Per Week

• Tutorial Program-$1650.00

• Housing: Single bedroom in a Two-Bedroom Apartment-$1150.00 ; Cleaning fee-$30.00; Utility Charge-$40.00 (Utility Charge is $55.00 for Term 5 and Term 6)
• Refundable Key and Damage Deposit-$150.00
• Airport Pick Up-$85.00
