2010 UNIVERSITY TOWERS HOUSING SCHEDULE
MOVE-IN/MOVE-OUT DATES AND COSTS

University Towers is a safe, clean student apartment building located a short distance from the Michigan Language Center.  

EACH APARTMENT HAS 2 BEDROOMS, A BATHROOM, A LIVING ROOM AND A KITCHEN

A SINGLE BEDROOM IN A 2-BEDROOM APARTMENT (limited number available): 
The student has his/her own bedroom and 1 or 2 other students will be in the 2nd bedroom.

A SHARED BEDROOM IN A 2-BEDROOM APARTMENT:
The student shares the bedroom with 1 other MLC student and 1 or 2 other students will be in the 2nd bedroom.

TO RESERVE A SPACE IN UNIVERSITY TOWERS, the applicant must provide full rental payment* of one of the following:
(1)     $825.00 for a shared space for six weeks
(2)     $1325.00 for a single space for six weeks
(3)     $550.00 for a shared space for three weeks
(4)     $795.00 for a single space for three weeks
The charges for Utility, Cleaning, Bed & Bath Package, and Refundable Key & Damage Deposit are due when the student registers at the Michigan Language Center.

TO CANCEL A SPACE IN UNIVERSITY TOWERS, the MLC needs written notification 14 days before the published move-in date.  If the housing request is cancelled 14 days before the published move-in date, the MLC will refund the rental payment minus $200.00 for a shared space or $300.00 for a single space. If housing is cancelled after the 14 days, there is NO refund.

Additional Housing-Related Charges
The utility charge is $60.00 / person for each 6-week term.  Each 3-week term is $40.00 / person.
The cleaning fee is $30.00 / person for each 3-week or 6-week term.
Students may arrange for telephone installation and service at their own expense.

Optional Bed & Bath Package:  A student may purchase a Bed & Bath Package from the MLC for $65.00.  The Bed & Bath Package includes the following:  1) Fitted bottom sheet; 2) Top sheet; 3) Blanket; 4) Pillow; 5) Pillow case; 6) Bath towel; 7) Hand towel.  These items are sold as a package only.  A Bed & Bath Package must be reserved in advance.  If a student does not purchase a package, he/she should bring these items from his/her country.

Refundable Key & Damage Deposit:  When a student first moves into University Towers, a $150.00 refundable deposit is collected from each student to cover the cost of the keys and damage to the apartment.  This deposit is returned to the student within 30 days after the student leaves the apartment if the keys are returned and if there is no damage to the apartment. 
(University Towers is a non-smoking facility.)
