Why do you appreciate being a part of MLC?
It’s an honor and a privilege to be a part of MLC that deeply cares about its instructors and students. I love the working environment at MLC; all the staff and instructors have a strong sense of camaraderie and a good work ethic. I also enjoy working with the students who are committed to learning to achieve their academic and professional goals. It’s such a rewarding experience to see them progress and make a personal connection to their learning.
What are some interesting facts about yourself?
I am a dog mom to two adorable small dog breeds — Mocha (Cavapoo and Terrier mix) and Mochi (Shihtzu and Yorkie mix). In my free time, I enjoy cooking and sourdough baking, as well as walking and playing with my two dogs. I also love exploring new countries and having culinary adventures with my husband.
I’ve always enjoyed working with culturally and linguistically diverse learners. I’ve taught ESL at Eastern Michigan University and Pathways to Success Academic Campus in Ann Arbor. In addition to teaching, I have experience working as a Test Day Supervisor and Clerical Marker at the IELTS Test Center at Eastern Michigan University. Prior to immigrating to the States, I was a high school English teacher, international study consultant, and curriculum coordinator in Indonesia.
