When did you start working at MLC?
2019

Why do you appreciate being a part of MLC?
I love working with such a talented team of professionals who truly care about each individual in our MLC community. It’s also a great place to meet interesting people, join fun activities, and learn from everyone. No matter what mood I am in when I walk into MLC, I always walk out with a smile.

Why is MLC a special place to study English?
The MLC is a special place to study because it offers students a chance to become part of a global family while making noticeable improvements in their English proficiency. The caring and dedicated team at MLC helps English learners feel welcome and included. The students at MLC have many opportunities to practice English, develop friendships, and have fun outside of class through daily activities, various clubs, interesting trips, movie outings, game nights, special events, and more!

What are some interesting facts about yourself?
My journey to becoming an English teacher started in Azerbaijan, where I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I have taught in 6 different countries: Azerbaijan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. I’m happy to be in Michigan again, where I can meet students from all over the world.

I enjoy reading, especially fantasy and science fiction. I’m a big fan of scuba diving, with more than 50 dives under my belt. I have swum with dolphins, manta rays, and even a whale shark! Some of my favorite things to do in Michigan are kayaking, camping, and eating at ethnic restaurants.
