In America, the Friday after Thanksgiving is called “Black Friday.” It is an extremely popular day for shopping, because stores offer incredible discounts. In the spirit of shopping, we’re highlighting a student essay about a popular destination for shopping in Seoul, South Korea.

The Galleria Department Store

Seoul is a city abound with landmarks from beautiful buildings such as the Galleria Department Store and the enormous golden skyscraper, 63 Building. The Galleria Department Store stands on the iconic architectural building that is located in Apgujeong-dong in affluent Cheongdam-Gu, South Korea.

There are many reasons why people want to visit it. First, the Galleria is two separate buildings which are covered by 4330 glass discs. The building reflects pearls at daytime and lights up at night. Second, the Galleria boasts a large supermarket. There are lots of items such as a wine shop, bakery shop, and grooming products.

Last, the Galleria is a popular place for foreigners, especially Chinese and Japanese. In this area, you can see young people styled in the latest trends. Fashionistas are looking for shopping, entertainment, and fashion at the famous Galleria Department Store.
